It’s great, get it.Have you ever wanted to buy a game on Steam but didn't know if it was good? Have you ever had just enough money for an indie game but didn't know whether it was worth buying? Have you ever asked yourself, "Should I buy this game ?" Mostly lateral changes except for slightly worse graphics and your party is a little less independent. Hybrids work better, but still not amazing. Squishies work a lot better, because glass cannon is a great ability, tanks are better at holding aggro, and there are real penalties for using heavy armor as a mage, rogue, ranger. I’ve found that enemies are closer together so more often you can cast rain and then lightning to stun a whole group right at the start of combat. Mages are more important, and hybrid mage works better. In combat, there’s no phys/mag armor, so you can CC anyone immediately and it becomes much more important. Gameplay-wise, pickpocketing isnt as important, but you’ll be stealing everything that isn’t nailed down to sell. In 1 you can’t even talk to anyone as your secondary characters. The main differences I’ve found are that the story is better in 2 and 2 feels more D&D like in that your party is more independent and have their own goals, which I REALLY liked. People liked divinity 1 but tbh i was pretty surprised that divinity 2 was lauded as game of the year by all these AAA games journalists, because it’s pretty similar to 1, honestly. It's a great game with some clear places they improved upon in 2. Some books as well, like example there is a book a trader sells that isn't normally a trader but technically is, that if you read you can then open up a giant loot chest at the end of a big fight, way later in the game. Fortunately you'll learn very quickly that most of the quests are easy enough if you pay attention and read all the dialogue. ![]() ![]() The journal is even harder to follow, and you'll very frequently find yourself on the edge of just googling a quest step. You lose all your skills and must re-acquire every skillbook when you respec, and it costs money, and it's not available until too late in the game to make that big a difference The skills system is a bit more wonky, and re-speccing is expensive and punishing. As in, there isn't an armor bar that "protects" you from being CC'd, you can always be cc'd unless you're immune to it. Loved 1, played the EE.Ĭombat is different, it's more reliant on CC, which is completely and totally percentage based in Div1.
